Jan's Empowerment Institute (JEI) Inc
She is the founder and CEO of Jan’s Empowerment Institute (JEI) Inc., a non-profit company which seeks to help unearth and develop the full potential of individuals through education, training, entrepreneurship, mentorship, job creation and innovation. Janese is also the owner of Cheretta’s Cakes & Pastries, a home-based bakery established in 2016. Janese is a 2017 Young Leaders of the Americas Initiative (YLAI) Professional Fellow.

Janese earned a BSc (Honours) in Science and Education: majors in Chemistry and Mathematics and a minor in Education from the University of Technology, Jamaica in 2008. She completed a Master of Philosophy in Chemistry at the University of the West Indies, Mona in Jamaica in 2014.

She is actively involved in her community and has implemented numerous initiatives to benefit the community. She acquired a grant of $10,000 USD from JaREEACH in 2015 to implement a Climate Change Awareness and Waste Management Improvement for Climate Change Adaptation Project. Janese organized and implemented a two week Women and Youth Empowerment Series in Antigua and Barbuda, after receiving a Young Leaders of the Americas Initiative (YLAI) Reverse Exchange Grant, in 2018. Janese values integrity, persistence, humility and compassion. She is altruistic in nature and has rendered invaluable service to numerous institutions and individuals locally, regionally and internationally. Through these experiences, she developed strong leadership and organizational skills, excellent research and development, project management, communication and presentation skills.
