Lisa Jawahir is an award-winning communications professional whose experience includes marketing, project management, business and event management with a strong focus on strategic communication.
She received the “Dark Horse” award from the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) during her time as Chairperson for the D.C. Marketing and Communications committee as a result of her commitment and excellence in the field of public relations.
Her other achievements includes the successful development and implementation of communications strategies for Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA), whose members include Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, Paramount Pictures Corporation, Sony Pictures Entertainment Inc., Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation, Universal City Studios LLC and Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. She also successfully executed productions for Carnival Cruise Lines, Princess Cruises, The Caribbean Production Company, Williams New York, and the Emmy award-winning company, Digital Kitchen. Her work with Digital Kitchen as the Island Producer for the Good Spirits Travel show for Carnival Cruise Lines premiered in April of 2017 and featured award-winning Los Angeles sensation, Matthew Biancaniello.
Her expertise has favored her to effectively engineer and support events in Saint Lucia including the production of the Saint Lucia Hotel and Tourism Association’s Rhythm & Spice Festival, Poolside Jazz, Talent on the Grill, and the Music Model Talent Showcase (MMTS) of the Islands in the Caribbean. She served as the Public Relations Officer for the Saint Lucia Amateur Swimming Association (SLASA) and serves again as an Advisor on the Events Committee for the Saint Lucia Hospitality and Tourism Association (SLHTA).
As Lisa Jawahir continues to dedicate her life to serving her people, she advocates for persons who are disenfranchised, young people who require skill and sports development, women who have been marginalized based on gender bias and persons of disabilities who have been excluded from decision-making that would impact their lives. Her advocacy continues as she hosts and produces the television show, UNCUT with Lisa Jawahir, where she invites experts and citizens to share ideas on how they intend to tackle social issues in Saint Lucia. She has exemplified the qualities of a role model for young persons to look up to and continues to give back to their development. She is now the title sponsor of the Forestiere Kataharrs Cricket Club and continues to engage the young people of the Castries South East constituency in sports through the Lisa Jawahir Community Shield football tournament, the Lisa Premiere League cricket tournament (LPL) and the Sarot Youth Club soccerama. She currently serves as a volunteer and advisor for the Cul de Sac after school’s program and is a member of the Rotary Club of St. Lucia.
